Armed thieves stole about 30 masterpieces, by Monet and Rodin among others, from an art dealer's home near Paris, Agence France-Presse reported, citing the police.

Five masked and armed thieves held the dealer hostage in his house in Le Pecq, west of the French capital, and stole paintings by Monet, Corot, Sisley and Cezanne and a sculpture by Rodin, AFP said.

The thieves left the house in a sport-utility vehicle and burned it later in nearby woods, AFP said. This is the second time the dealer was robbed at his house, AFP reported, citing the police.
